Manvantara Avatars

#1 Unread post by Bhava dasa (ACBSP) »

A Manvantara is a vast time cycle, each ruled by a Manu, the progenitor of humanity. Each Manvantara has its own set of deities, sages, and an incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu who restores cosmic order.

There are 14 Manvantaras in a Kalpa (one day of Brahma), and in each, Vishnu incarnates in different forms. Here are some of the known Manvantara Avatars:
1. Swayambhuva Manvantara – Vishnu appeared as Yajna.
2. Svārochisha Manvantara – Vishnu incarnated as Vibhu.
3. Uttama Manvantara – Vishnu appeared as Satyasena.
4. Tāmasa Manvantara – Vishnu incarnated as Hari.
5. Raivata Manvantara – Vishnu appeared as Vaikuntha.
6. Chakshusha Manvantara – Vishnu incarnated as Ajita.
7. Vaivasvata Manvantara (the current one) – Vishnu’s avatars include Vamana, Rama, Krishna, and others.
8. Future Manvantaras – Vishnu will take forms like Sarabha and Rishabha in upcoming cycles.

Each of these avatars plays a role in restoring dharma (cosmic order) and guiding humanity. Let others know if you need details on any specific Manvantara or its avatar.
